The ministry notified the committee almost a year after the Central Advisory Council (CAC) headed by Union housing and affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri had decided on the move.
Source said the MC has written a letter to the two states as it wants to first understand the best criteria to impose tax on residential properties.
The move comes as GMADA is set to acquire 1,680 acres of land in the first phase the development of the Aerotropolis estate.
