The GMADA crew destroyed entrance roads and streets built in the colony in addition to uprooting the foundations of numerous houses still being built and disconnecting sewer lines.
The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) conducted a demolition drive in the Dera Bassi villages of Sundra and Morthikri. Twelve homes and four showrooms were destroyed by the crew.
Additionally, the GMADA crew destroyed the approach roads and streets built in the colony as well as the foundations of other buildings that were still being built. They also severed sewage pipes.
According to assistant town planner (ATP) Gagandeep Singh, the developer continued to build the unlawful colony despite the drive that was conducted last week. An emergency response police squad was in charge of the demolition crew, which included bulldozers and earthmovers. At 11 am, the trip started, and it lasted until 2 pm.
District Town Planner (DTP) Harpreet Singh advised locals to invest in plots that have received GAMDA approval rather than wasting their money on unauthorized communities.
On June 12, despite fierce opposition from the locals, a similar demolition effort was carried out against illegal structures in Ekta Colony, Balongi.
