Chandigarh Metro Update: 77 KM Route Map Prepared
Trends Of Discover, Chandigarh: This route was initially 66 km long, but now it will be approximately 77 km. It has been extended by around 11 kilometers, making it nearly 77 km long. A comprehensive project report will be prepared by March.
The news of the metro's construction has brought joy to the people of Chandigarh as the demand for a metro has been long-standing. Chandigarh is a tourist destination, attracting travelers from all over the world. With the construction of the metro, people will find considerable relief in commuting.
The estimated cost of the first phase is 10,570 crore rupees. The state government will contribute 20% and the central government will provide 20% of the funds. The remaining 60% will be obtained through a loan. The primary goal is to build metro lines by 2027, connecting New Chandigarh to Saharanpur, ISBT Panchkula to Panchkula Extension, Rock Garden to ISBT Chandigarh, and from Zirakpur Airport to the Industrial Area.
Every year, thousands of people come to Chandigarh. From Chandigarh, people travel to places like Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Dharamshala, Kalpa, and other destinations. Chandigarh is often the starting point for their trips to Himachal Pradesh.
