In a major administrative update the government has officially notified the inclusion of nearly all city side areas excluding Badmajra into the Mohali Municipal Corporation. The notification confirms that the entire Web City project and its surrounding regions have now been approved for inclusion under the Municipal Corporation. Rural pockets with growing urban influence especially those closer to highways and developing sectors are set to receive long-overdue upgrades in road quality, water supply, and sanitation. Badmajra Village t he only locality that remains outside the Municipal Corporation’s newly expanded jurisdiction.The area was excluded due to dense population, unresolved development disputes, cluster regularization issues and objections raised by the gram sabha.
