Mohali is stepping into a new phase of modern infrastructure as GMADA moves forward with plans to develop the city’s first temporary helipad in Phase 8. This initiative marks a significant upgrade in urban connectivity positioning Mohali as a fast evolving city with advanced transport support.
The temporary helipad is designed to support VIP movement, emergency services reducing dependence on long road journeys. As Mohali grows into a major business and residential hub the demand for quicker and more efficient transport options has increased. The helipad is expected to play a crucial role in meeting this need.
Sakshi Sahni Chief Administrator of GMADA highlighted that this project will mark Mohali’s first ever ground level helipad making it a landmark addition to the city’s growing infrastructure.
Phase 8 has been selected due to its strategic location, strong road connectivity and proximity to hospitals, government offices and commercial hubs. Its central position allows helicopters to operate efficiently making it ideal for both emergency response and official use.
The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has begun developing Mohali’s first helipad in Phase 8 strategically located opposite its own office and right in front of the Rural Development and Panchayats Department building marking a major upgrade in the city’s aviation and emergency infrastructure.
Infrastructure improvements like this often trigger strong investor confidence. The helipad is likely to enhance the profile of Phase 8 making it more attractive for corporate offices, premium housing and commercial developments. Better accessibility adds long term value to properties benefiting both residents and investors.
While the helipad is temporary it reflects a larger vision for future ready urban planning. It sets the foundation for more permanent aviation facilities as Mohali continues to grow. With this move Mohali signals that it is ready to embrace modern mobility, improved safety and smarter infrastructure taking a confident step toward becoming a truly connected city.
